Our aim is to think about the world we live in, how it works, what powers it, who runs it, and how we might need to respond to that.

All the books on this website are those we have in stock at the shop in Glasgow.
If you are looking for books that aren’t on this site, you can visit our page on Bookshop.org to buy most books available in the UK. It is a more ethical alternative to the billionaire-owned website.
There is also a way of buying audiobooks that does not feed the aforementioned billionaire: Libro.fm offers many of the exact same recordings, while distributing a share of its takings to independent book shops like us. Please have a look at it if that’s your thing.
About this website. Our website is based on a generic template from our payment provider. It's not ideal, but it means we can keep track of our stock and is relatively cheap and easy to maintain. A major problem is that it does not allow more than one category for each product. You can work around this flaw by using simple search terms - e.g. put 'sound' in the search bar and you'll get anything with the word 'sound' in the description or title, i.e. most of the music and sound related titles, and a whole lot of poetry. The 'related items' under each book are completely random, which is also a good way of navigating the site.
